Why the Mosque will never be moved

Many will ask: How do you know these things? To the best of my ability, I am merely reporting what I believe to be commonly held theological beliefs of the Islamic community. Certainly most Moslems in this country would dispute much of what I say. They dispute me on two grounds:

First—they do not agree that the views presented here are legitimately Islamic views.
Second—the views expressed put Islam in a bad light and are therefore anti-Islamic, probably blasphemous, maybe even qualify as hate speech.

What you will never hear anyone say is, “No Moslem believes that.” Because they know that the views expressed here are widely held by Moslems worldwide. You will likely never hear these views expressed in English. And I have to admit that these views may be inconsistent with true Islam; I am not a Moslem theologian. But here is the point that cannot be denied by anyone: The views presented here are widely held by Imams the world over and represented by them as true representations of Islam. (If they are mistaken, more informed Imams have not yet convinced these misinformed mullahs of their errors.)

Now to the location of the mosque. This is short, simple, and easy to grasp.

The so-called Ground Zero Mosque will never be moved. It cannot be moved. It cannot be moved because it is located in a spot that will commemorate the great victory won by Islam against the infidel on 9/11. No other spot will do.  If the intent of this mosque was to improve relations with Americans, it would be called the Reconciliation Mosque, or the Mosque of Contrition, or the Humble Apology Mosque. (The reader may insert here their own title to show Islam’s remorse over the fact that 19 of their own executed jihad against the innocent; these titles will never see the light of day.) It will never choose a name like any of those, with which its current name, Cordoba, is quite antithetical.

The so-called Ground Zero Mosque will never be moved because it is widely believed to be at Ground Zero. Many are now refusing to call it the Ground Zero Mosque. This should be your first warning sign. It is believed (by many) to be a part of Ground Zero because part of one of the planes landed on and substantially damaged the building at that very site. The funding that will be raised for the construction of the mosque is coming because the site is linked to 9/11. This will make it a holy site; the first holy site on this continent. It cannot have that status at any other location.

When I visited the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem, I mentioned to the guide that I was interested in a tour of the site of the Second Temple. He raised both hands and shouted in broken English, “There is no Second Temple!” My family thought their dad was about to become the first casualty of Armageddon. The Dome of the Rock and the Cordoba Mosque of New York will share in common the celebration of victories against infidels at those locations. If the New York mosque is moved to a new location, then I don’t know what I’m talking about.

Why the Mosque?

You notice that this blog is in memory of Dr. Tom Little, an optometrist who was martyred two weeks ago today. You have also noticed that there is far more talk about the conflict of the mosque in New York than there is about Little’s passing. And no one has yet suggested that there is any connection between the two. Until this blog. Tom Little’s martyrdom (as well as the other nine members of his team) was a great victory for certain Moslems in their struggle against infidels. This is a life and death struggle (sometimes called jihad). It is identical to what happened on September 11, 2001.  All Moslems who agree with that struggle must participate in the celebration of the victory that slew Dr. Little. Obviously the death of a few doctors and their multitalented team was a great loss to many poverty-stricken Afghans who desperately need their sacrificial service. But that is a small price to pay for the spiritual purification of the Afghanistan.

And 9/11 was likewise, a great victory for the general purification of the world. If you would understand what looks like senseless killing, you must understand this mindset. The Taliban who killed the medical team two weeks ago were less sophisticate then the nineteen hijackers. But the goal was identical and the results were equally successful. No one knows for sure how many of the 1.2 billion Moslems in the world celebrated these victories, but we know that there are many who did. Both sets of killers did their perceived duty to Allah with the expectation that every Moslem will celebrate their victory.

The construction of the mosque in New York is just such a celebration. It masquerades as an attempt at reconciliation, but as this firestorm heats up, it must be obvious that reconciliation is not the goal. The truth is that Moslems worldwide have no confusion about this mosque; it is a monument to a great victory.

In my second edition to “God in the Pits; the Enron Jihad edition,” I wrote a chapter that attempted to explain the mystery of 9/11. My chapter was perceived by New Yorkers as a justification of 9/11. It wasn’t, or course, and I’m sorry it was thus misunderstood. Instead, it was an explanation to help the confused understand what appeared senseless. (see more at http://www.godinthepits.com/) The attacks of 9/11 were, in fact, rational acts, consistent with a certain Islamic view of reality.

It is not the purpose of this blog to take a position on a zoning issue in New York. Freedom in America includes the freedom to be insensitive. If New York allows it and builds it, we will have the mosque. The goal of this blog is to help you understand what this mosque means. Next time I will discuss why it cannot be moved to another location.

The Mystery of Afghanistan

This will require time. No one changes his/her mind in a minute. It takes time. Sometimes a long time. And the situation in Afghanistan will require much contemplation to understand. I’ll return to this theme often, but for now, let us begin.

We might as well start with a current situation. It’s on everyone’s mind, the mosque being proposed in New York. Everyone is correct; it’s perfectly legal AND it’s perfectly offensive, divisive, and inappropriate. Please get used to this sort of conundrum. It will become the trademark between Islam and the West.

To work on these problems try to recall the magician. How do you identify his trick? The key is to look everywhere EXCEPT where he is focusing your attention. That’s how you will see what his inactive hand is doing while you are focusing on the hand he draws all the attention to. It’s the same here. Everyone is focused on the legality, the offense, the sensitivities of the families of the 9-11 victims, etc. But we know they are all correct. So focus elsewhere.

The president said, “I believe that Muslims have the right to practice their religion as everyone else in this country.” The president is not trying to deceive. He made a statement that is so obvious that we would never consider reconsidering it, or even reflecting on it for a moment. But there is something off balance about this statement. I’m working to figure out what it is. Are we free to believe that African-Americans are genetically inferior to whites? Certainly we are not free to actually practice that thinking in our hiring. And we are free to believe that if one dies in an act of jihad against the infidel they will get a free pass around judgment and into paradise—indeed this is the only way to get that free pass. And if we are free to believe that, we certainly are free to teach that “truth” to our children, the fertile minds who will surely make the world a better place by performing the ultimate act of jihad. With confidence I tell you—this is precisely what those fertile minds did on September 11, 2001.
